Toy of the Week: Language Games

Quarantine Week 7: Time to learn a new language.

So now that we still have loads of time to stay at home, why don't we start learning a new language? There are roughly 6,500 spoken languages in the world. The most popular language in the world is Mandarin Chinese.

But you can start by learning a simpler language like English or French or if you are already bilingual, you can go for your third or fourth language like Greek, Spanish, German or so many more!

You can even start to learn Sign Language! Not a commonly used language that is for sure but very interesting and somewhat universal, in a way. You can learn Sign language with these alphabet blocks and we also have Braille writing blocks.

Language is a very important way to communicate with one another but did you know that there are also some communities that use sounds to communicate instead of words? It's called the Khoisan language or the "click language" used by the inhabitants of southern Africa.

Languages are so wonderful and the more you know the better it will be for you. Not only will you be able to communicate in different countries but knowing more than one language can boost your brain power and improve your memory and help you multi-task, and sometimes you might start speaking Frenglish.

Continue to Play Together and Play Forever!
